Recipe for deep fried chicken nugget sand sweet and sour sauce and mustard sauce.


Ingredients:
1 pound boneless chicken tenders
vegetable oil for deep frying1/3 cup
all-purpose flour1/4 teaspoon
salt 1 1/2 teaspoons
vinegar1/4 teaspoon
baking soda1/3 cup

Preparation:
Cut chicken into nugget-size pieces, about 1x1/2-inch. Put oil in deep fryer or put about 2 to 3 inches in a Dutch oven; heat to 360. Mix flour with salt in a small bowl. Mix vinegar with baking soda. Add vinegar mixture and water to the flour mixture; beat until smooth. Dip chicken pieces into batter; allow excess batter to drip off into the bowl. Fry chicken nuggets, 4 to 6 at a time, until golden brown, or about 4 minutes for each batch.
serve hot with sweet and sour mustard sauce. *

INGREDIENTS
*.Potatoes 3/4 lb *.
Onions(medium) 4 *.
Bengal Gram Flour 2 cups *.
Green Chillies 4 *.
Ginger a small piece *.
Garlic Cloves 4 *.
Coconut(grated) 2 tsp *.
Sugar to taste *.
Juice of Lime 1 *.
Coriander Leaves a few sprigs *.
Oil for deep frying *.
Mustard Seeds 1 tsp *.
Turmeric Powder 1 tsp *.
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp *.
c*min Seeds 1 tsp *.
Soda bi Carb a pinch *.
Salt as per taste
COOKING DIRECTIONS

1.Boil potatoes, peel and slightly mash.
2. Blend together the green chillies, garlic and ginger to a fine paste.
3. Mix together the potato, onions, ginger and garlic chilli paste, coriander leaves, sugar, lime juice ans salt to taste.
4. Heat a little oil and add the mustard seedds and curry leaves.
5. When the mustard crackles, remove from heat and add to the potato mixture and mix well.
6. Make a smooth batter with the Bengal gram flour, salt to taste, c*min seeds, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
7. Add a teaspoon of hot oil when making the batter.
8. Let the batter remain thick.
9. Divide the potato mixture into equal sized portions, the size of a lemon.
10. Dip each ball in the batter and deep fry till golden brown in colour and serve.

Shish Taouk is marinated chicken cut into cubes or big chunks and marinated at least overnight then baked, grilled or even cooked on the stove surface. The main ingredient of the marinade is garlic!!! Shish Taouk is normally put on skewers and grilled but this time I wanted to bake it in the oven since we were not having a barbecue. I served it with home made french fries.
